I was given the opportunity to review a butter crock made by Butterbell.
The product looked great. It was sturdy, and seemed to have potential. The downfall. It keeps butter spreadable for up to a month. Does anyone out there actually use butter on a regular basis anymore? Anyone who’s cholesterol isn’t through the roof? With all the media weight trends, bullying, and social taboos going on right now, I dare to bring up this point without being labeled a “bully”.
Too many people are fat today. Not pleasantly plump, or healthy and happy, or even slightly overweight. I’m not talking just satisfied in their own skin, I am talking going to die any day due to being so exorbitantly huge. Do we really need to make a crock of butter readily available???
Now, the product is supposed to keep butter at spreadable texture, keeping you form having to soften it. Anyone who cooks, knows how annoying it is to pull out cold butter and sit and wait. But you have to let it soften, pack it in, and change the water every 3 days. This serves to help me how? Now I have to change the water every 3 days…..It would be easier to just pull the butter out and let it sit for 20 minutes and soften.
After my first 3 days, I opened the crock (I hadn’t used any butter since packing it in). The stinking butter fell right out into the water. After scooping it out, and washing the greasy mess off my hands, and praying that the big ball of butter doesn’t freeze in my pipe and cause them to burst……I wrote the company declining the giveaway. Thanks but no thanks. I do not feel comfortable using the product, or promoting it in anyway. You want butter. Open the refrigerator, and pull it out. That will work better.
