Are there Christian witches?
The ideology of two beliefs intertwining could be what is called New Age. Through centuries ideas and beliefs have always come together into a new combined diversity of understanding. To get an idea of how this worked in the past to create a new ideology from two separate beliefs and ideas we can take a look at language.
The Greek language and the Hebrew language merged together to create the Arabic language. It was with the two languages, which came together out of necessity to form a singular language that could be understood by most everyone living in the area. It was a way for people who could not speak the majority language to survive. They could now make a living, sell their skills & goods, go to the marketplace to purchase goods and communicate well enough to get around the city.
The belief in two religions can be important in how a person chooses to live and how they interact with people and nature. The practice of one belief can be more dominant between the two.
A Christian witch may not be a visible fixture in Church, they may not go, but they might choose to practice their rituals & beliefs in the home. The Christian witch may pray to God but carry a good luck charm. The Christian witch might believe in intercepting with curses or spoken good luck.
Their belief in dual religions can cross boundaries. The Christian Religion believes that magic shouldn’t be practiced because with that practice spirits and demons brought forth thought to be under control may run amuck.
This idea may reinforce the belief of a Christian witch that magic is true and that the practice of magic can do good as well as evil.
The intention of a Christian witch in using magic for the purpose of doing good isn’t far off from spiritual healers. A Church leader or Pastor may be spiritual healers in that they pray for God’s power to heal those in need who may be inflicted with disease or pain. They may use the laying on of hands to heal the inflicted with the power of God flowing through their touch. One might even think of a Pastor who uses laying on of hands and prayer as being a Christian witch.
A Christian witch can be perceived as a spiritual healer and may use herbs and prayer to touch those inflicted.
