Can the Chicago Bears beat the Philadelphia Eagles this coming Sunday? According to an article by Larry Mayer, the Bears have the second-toughest schedule in the NFL. The Green Bay Packers have the fourth-most-difficult. I don’t agree. However, I do wonder if the Bears can beat the Eagles; the Bears have looked better.
I watched the Giants lose to the Eagles last night. By the way, I would not be surprised if they did not move the Bears-Eagles game to Sunday night because Vick is such an item right now.
The Giants handled the Eagles just fine until Manning threw an interception near the end of the game.
Can the Bears beat the Eagles? Yes they can. Will they beat the Eagles? I don’t know. The current betting line has the Eagles favored by 3 ½ points.
Over this season, teams have begun putting pressure on Jay Cutler. They have done this because the Bears have a poor offensive line. Lately they have strengthened this part of their game, however they are hardly an All-Pro line at this point. I saw last night that if teams charged Vick from his left and made him run to his right, they minimized his effectiveness. Also, the Eagles’ secondary is subject to the long pass. If the Bears are willing to rush Vick viciously, they can keep him in check. Further, if Mike Martz will roll Cutler out to buy time, and if Cutler will use his legs to run on occasion, the Bears could win.
Of course, the reason we play games is because each game is subject to adjustments, and what worked for the Giants may not work for the Bears. One reason is the Bears defense is tough but not quite as tough as New York’s. On the other hand, Cutler is more mobile, in my opinion, than Eli Manning.
The Bears are at home and we have Robbie Gould, who should give us an edge — although we never seem to use it.
My main concern is our offense is so slow to get off the ground.
I think the Bears will lose, and it is too bad, because I am sick of hearing about how great Mike Vick is.
