When I saw a box of Cap’N Crunch’s Crunch Treasures, I thought it looked like a great find. I got a smaller box which was 3.9 oz and 4 servings. It was only $1 at Walgreens so I thought this was a great way to try this cereal out. The front of the box says 1/2 the sugar of regular Cap’n Crunch and good source of 12 essential vitamins and minerals.
This cereal is better for you than many on the market today. It only has 120 calories in a serving that is 1.5 cups. It also has 1g of fat, 0mg cholesterol, 260mg sodium, 26g carbohydrate, 1g dietary fiber, and 6g of sugar. Corn flour is the main ingredient for this cereal. It also has sugar, oat flour, salt, coconut oil, brown sugar, and a lot more ingredients in it. The regular Cap’N Crunch has 12g of sugar per serving, so this is a lot less sugar. It is made by Quaker Oats Company.
At first bite, this cereal tasted similar to regular Cap’n Crunch. Then I ate another bite and was thinking this has a weird flavor. It was a weird sweet that I honestly do not know how to explain. After a few bites, I felt like it had no good flavor and left a bad after taste in your mouth. I think that they were going for more something with less sugar that was nutritious, but they seriously messed up on this one. It is not good at all. I honestly ended up throwing away the cereal before finishing the bowl and tossing the rest of the box in the trash as well. I will not be buying this one again. If you are looking for something with less sugar, fix yourself some egg whites. You will enjoy it much more than this cereal!
