The living environment can cause night sweats in men. In case your room is warm or you use a large number of blankets, it could cause night sweats. The absence of adequate levels of testosterone can cause night sweats in men. This is quite common in men, who are over fifty years. As you grow old, the testosterone levels also come down. The decrease of testosterone levels in men is termed as andropause and will not affect men as rapidly as menopause affects women. The decrease is relatively sluggish and gradual and man, like women, can have hot flashes as well as night sweats. This problem distresses only a small percentage of men and hormone replacement is considered the best treatment.

To identify the appropriate cause of night sweat in men, it is best that you eliminate the causes unrelated to medical problems such as room temperature and stress. Anxiety causes many other medical conditions besides causing night sweats. If your sweat condition is non-medical, you should immediately consult your doctor for finding out the cause.
