Taipei is a popular destination for New Year’s Eve due to the massive fireworks show from Taipei 101. This year’s event will be even more spectacular as Taiwan gets ready to officially celebrate its 100th Birthday! Taiwan, or The Republic of China (R.O.C.) was founded just 100 years ago! Celebrations began in October 2010 and will run for a year to celebrate the centennial anniversary.
There are several venues offering nightlife and a club atmosphere where you can ring in the new year and watch the fireworks, or you can spend it at one of the city’s hotels that will be offering special packages. One of the hotels that offers spectacular New Year’s Eve parties is the Shangri-La’s Far Eastern Plaza Hotel.
This year the Shangri-La’s Far Eastern Plaza Hotel is throwing a rooftop poolside countdown party and cocktail reception.
