Getting the holiday weekend off to a grand beginning, the stars were out on Friday night (October 29) showing off their costume choices for Halloween 2010.
Drawing plenty of big names, a private Beverly Hills soiree brought out baboon dressed “Titanic” hunk Leonardo DiCaprio, who tried his best to smoke a cigar through his mask during the festivities.
Also on hand for the Beverly Hills bash were a sexy kitten-clad Molly Sims as well as WWE babe Stacy Keibler, who joined a few gal pals in dressing up as the Three Amigos.
Meanwhile, recently divorced actor David Arquette channeled Elvis Presley while out partying amidst his hosting efforts for the AMP Energy Juice Short Film fete for “The Legend of Hallowdega.”
Last, but not least, party girl Tara Reid was on the opposite coast as she sported a tiny Barbie ensemble at the Cipriani Downtown Halloween 2010 party held at Cipriani SoHo.With stars such as an angelic Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon to a superhero/peacock pair-up by Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz among the sightings last year, Hollywood’s biggest names are certainly making preparations to outdo themselves once again this time around.
As for the masses, the most popular costumes on the market in 2010 include “Twilight,” “True Blood” and “Vampire Diaries” inspired vampire ensembles with Captain Jack Sparrow driven pirate outfits also selling quite well.
Yesterday also saw the hosts of “Today” getting into the Halloween spirit as they sported some pretty fun costumes.
Al Roker channeled his inner-super-hero as he donned a black wig and a Superman getup as the cameras looked on.
Also in the house was Meredith Vieira as Lady GaGa, Anne Curry as Amelia Earhart, and Natalie Morales as Justin Bieber.
Offering up the first look at her Halloween ensemble, Heidi Klum tried on her towering costume while in New York City earlier this month.
The “Project Runway” babe was fitted in a blindingly bright robot outfit, although she hasn’t told anyone who or what she is supposed to be this year. An E! source revealed that the costume is over 8-feet tall, and that Heidi “had to find a location where the doorway would fit her walking in in full costume.”
Noting that not every costume needs to be all that much work, costume designer Loren D. Bracewell told TampaBay.com that “a Tiger Woods costume is as handy as the nearest polo shirt and golf club.”
“You want to be recognizable, but you want to give it your own touch,” he added. “Let your imagination run wild.”
