Prince Poppycock may not have been America’s Got Talent winner, but with his crazy and unique style I’m sure there will be Prince Poppycock Halloween costumes this year 2010.
Right now the biggest celebrity costume is Lady Gaga. However with the fun wigs, outrageous makeup, and funky shoes Poppycock has a huge chance to become a hit for Halloween, especially for costume parties.
There are so many great ideas here. You can go as Prince Poppycock, Poppycock with Gaga as a couple, or John Quale. In this article, I am going to show you how you can make a Prince Poppycock Halloween costume using all of his different looks. Then I will have a few more articles following, showing how to do the couple idea and John Quale.
Prince Poppycock Vibrant Green Victorian Costume
When John Quale showed up on stage in this outrageous get up the judges and the audience started to make faces, and laugh. However, as soon as this eccentric singer opened his mouth everyone was totally blown away.
Victorian wig (Can be found at Amazon.com. The name of the wig is called The Colonial Lady Deluxe or The Enigma Victorian Queen Wig.)
Bright green blazer jacket
Bright green knickers (You can use bright green leprechaun pants or shiny bright green disco pants.)
White Go Go boots/ cream ankle style boots
Gold victorian hat
Prince Poppycock makeup
The most important part of this costume is the makeup. If you get this wrong, then you’ll end up looking like another character and not Prince Poppycock. I have to say the makeup is not easy to do, and it will take lots of practice, especially getting the brows right.
Instead of showing you myself, I done some research online and came across a few websites who have the best Prince Poppycock makeup tutorials, which would be great for Halloween. You can click here, here, and here.
For the green costume definitely go with the third makeup tutorial.
Prince Poppycock Yankee Doodle Dandy Halloween Costume 2010
This is probably one of the most popular costume choices for many. It’s very fun, patriotic, and so Prince Poppycock.
Trying to find glittery red and blue knickers is very hard to achieve. However, go with your next best choice which would be a sequined Uncle Sam Halloween costume. Then add your own glitter to the pants to make them more drastic.
Since most of the Uncle Sam costumes don’t have any lace on the sleeves, head over to a fabric store and pick some up. Attach the lace to each end of sleeve by sewing it on or using a hot glue gun.
For the hat go with a blue glitter top hat, or a blue satin top hat and place blue glitter all over the hat. Then once the glue is dried you need to cut out a silver star out of fabric or aluminum foil and place it in the middle of the hat.
The shoes go with a pair of patriotic American flag platform costume boots, which can be found on Ebay or most of the Halloween stores online. The makeup for this costume I would go with the second tutorial as mentioned above. Only I would add more glitter to the eyes, especially under the brows.
Other costume ideas are from the songs “Bohemian Rhapsody”, which he dressed up wearing a blue Roman style pirate outfit and a Dee Snider Twisted Sister blonde wig. Unique clown costume with a wig made out of feathers from the song from “Pagliacci” or an Red knight costume with a jewel breast plate and a huge feather crown hat. If you have any creativity you can come up with so many different ideas. How about a Vampire Poppycock?
Make your face pale white. Then for the makeup, use blood red lipstick, red black, and gold eyeshadow, the thick black brows, pink blush, long fake lashes, the Poppycock wig, knee high boots, and a red and black velvet Gothic outfit. Instead of having the small beauty mark make fake blood dripping. The ideas here are endless.
