This dish is perfect for anybody because it is easy to make and can be changed so easily. It makes it perfect for a dish that can be fixed for any dinner at any time.
Medium to Large Mixing Bowl
Frying pan that can fit 1 ½ lbs. Meat
Casserole Baking Tray
Nonstick Cooking Spray
1 lb. Hambuger or 1 lb. Turkey
½ cup unflavored apple sauce (if using turkey)
½ lb. Or 1 lb. Bag of Frozen French fries
2 cups shredded cheese, choice of flavor(s) to go with spices
Spices – options of a mix of Italian (oregano or just Italian mix), Mexican (chile, cilantro), or others
Gather all equipment and ingredients into one area.
Mix meat and spices in mixing bowl. If using turkey, add apple sauce so the meat stays tender.
Heat frying pan on stove and spray with nonstick cooking spray.
Brown meat and drain any fat. Set pan aside. Let meat cool in pan.
Pour fries into baking pan and bake for half the time on package.
Add meat, cheese and any vegetables (such as onion or tomatoes) wanted to the casserole tray and return to oven to finish baking.
Remove from oven when finished baking. If cheese is not melted, return to oven until cheese is melted.
If desired, mix in pieces of fresh lettuce.
Serve. Optionally serve with ketchup, mayonnaise, and mustard.
If desired and the products are available, a vegetarian version of the dish may be made. Also, use only meat and fries for children who do not like vegetables. Make the dish as spicy or as mild as desired.
