Fulton Mall Downtown has never been anyone’s idea of an elegant place to spend an evening. Downtown Brooklyn’s Brooklyn Fare may just have to challenge that expectation as Downtown Brooklyn always has. As reported back by The NY Observer, “Brooklyn Fare opened a year-and-a-half ago… (and is) said to serve the best meal – a $135 10-course tasting – in the borough.”
The Chef’s Table at Brooklyn Fare challenges people’s expectations of fine dining not just because of the dingy block it happens to be located in Downtown, but also because this “18-seat counter” is actually located inside of a bodega. A restaurant inside of a bodega is nothing all that revolutionary; a Michelin Guide 2-star restaurant, frankly, is.
The Michelin Guide award is one of “the most coveted awards in all of fine dining, and the first time Brooklyn, the ‘fourth largest city in the country,’ has been so honored.”
Chef Cesar Ramirez was humbled by the award and Chef’s Table now joins the esteemed company of just nine other restaurants currently on the 2-star circuit in the world.
