Despite that a miracle of immeasurable magnitude and significance occurred when 33 miners were rescued from a Chile mine after being trapped underground for 69 days, there’s still a slight mar on the otherwise divine outcome. Not only did 33 men surface from over 2,000 feet (nearly a half mile) below the ground, but so did some of the men’s unwanted baggage including the admissions of mistresses.
While it wasn’t exactly clear on whose admissions of these indiscretions were from (the miner or the mistress or the wife, etc.), or whether the discoveries were accidental, it was obvious that at least one miner was greeted by his mistress upon his exit rather than his wife.
One particular example of a miner mistress saga is that of Yonni Barrios who has has been married to Marta Salinas for the past 28 years. Yonni also has a mistress by the name of Susana Valenzuela.

It was Susana, not Marta, who hugged Yonni as he emerged from the earth looking worn and tired.
Susana and Marta had actually met each other, or perhaps discovered one another, at a vigil held for the men last month.
Marta decided to boycott Barrios’ rescue as her husband had also invited Susana. Hmmmm…….
Things went from bad to worse when Chilean TV reporters said that Marta Salinas was the woman in the crowd waiting for her husband. Later, Fox was able to confirm the true identity of the woman as Susana and it was clarified across all news and media.
Maybe Miracle Number 34 will occur as Yonni at least appeared to be rather restrained as Susana hugged him and cried. Perhaps all that time underground has taught him what really matters.
