On Saturday, October 2nd from 12 noon to 6PM, The Brooklyn Botanic Garden will host the Chile Pepper Fiesta. The event brings together seven bands, with some of NYC’s hottest chefs, chocolatiers, and gardening experts.
The event will feature peppery performances and smoky grooves from the West African band Mandingo Ambassadors, the fiery heat of Bollywood brass bad Red Baraat, the Grammy-nominated Haitian dance group Boukman Eksperyans, and the red hot licks from Brooklyn’s own Ukuladies. In addition to music, Chef Corwin Kave of Fatty Crab and Fatty ‘Cue will demonstrate how to cook up innovative Malaysian cuisine, Chef Karthik Kumar of Brick Lane Curry House will teach the secrets of British-Indian curries, Chef Dave Shuttenberg of Cabrito will exhibit some twists on Mexican classics, and Chef Simon Glenn of Tchoup Shop will display the techniques of Cajun backyard BBQ.
There will also be plenty of spicy chocolates from the city’s chocolatiers all day long. For more information visit: www.bbg.org
