Everyone in the country is expecting the Pittsburgh Steelers to dominate the Cleveland Browns in Heinz Field October 17th. Don’t always believe the obvious in the NFL. Ben Roethlisberger embarks on his first game as the starting quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers this weekend. Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers will be looking to get a solid running game established to offset their passing attack.
Pittsburgh Steelers Offense vs Cleveland Browns Defense
Ben Roethlisberger’s return to the Pittsburgh Steelers sideline has been anticipated but this game may be a tough one for the two time Super Bowl quarterback. Roethlisberger will be helped by going against one of the youngest secondaries in the NFL and one of the most vulnerable in the Cleveland Browns. Roethlisberger must establish the run with his star running back Rashard Mendenhall in this game if he wants to buy himself time against the solid Cleveland Browns front seven.
The Cleveland Browns corners have been taking a beating in most their games. Eric Wright has been picked on by mediocre quarterbacks such as Carson Palmer, Josh Freeman, Matt Cassel and Joe Flacco. On the other side, Joe Haden is backing up Sheldon Brown although there was speculation of Brown being pushed to safety to accommodate Haden. If Wright continues to look bad against middle of the road QB’s Haden could be in Wright’s spot sooner than later. The Pittsburgh Steelers offense has a huge edge against the Clevelnad Browns defense.
Cleveland Browns Offense vs Pittsburgh Steelers Defense
The Cleveland Browns offense is improving under the legs of Peyton Hillis and the speed of Joshua Cribbs. The scary player on the Cleveland Browns is quarterback Jake Delhomme who will be under center against the toughest defense in the NFL. Seneca Wallace may get the start if he is healthy since Delhomme looked awful in his game against the Atlanta Falcons.
The Pittsburgh Steelers defense will be well rested and ready to bang some heads as they take their home field against their hated AFC North rivals the Cleveland Browns. Troy Palomalu is the reason this defense is so dominating. Palomalu and Aaron Smith were missing from the defense of the Pittsburgh Steelers last season and the defense was not the same.
With those two back in the fold for the Pittsburgh Steelers defense, this will be a smash mouth destructive AFC North game. There will be more than a few injured players being helped off the field in this one. The Pittsburgh Steelers defense has a definite edge over the Cleveland Browns offense.

The Las Vegas Hilton Superbook does not give the Cleveland Browns much of a chance against the Pittsburgh Steelers in this AFC North game. This is an AFC North grudge match game and the Cleveland Browns Joshua Cribbs is the most exciting player on the field for this game.
