For those of you who have visited the more refined parts of New York City; Battery Park City, East River, Far Rockaway, Inwood, and Riverdale; these are some of the more distant locations in and around the city. The biggest reason these destinations are as such is because of lack of accessibility from train service! Yes, Far Rockaway, Riverdale, and Inwood are accessible but they are at the very end of a long series of stops.
Still, these distant destinations haven’t received the dubious “worst train line in New York City” award. For that we need to go to the C-Train which goes to Fort Greene and Clinton Hill. In fact, according to the NY Times Local, this is “the second year in a row,” that the line and the borough have received the dubious award. The survey of the worst train is conducted annually by “the Straphangers Campaign.”
The C-train receives a MetroCard rating of 55 cents which was quite a bit shorter than the second worst property, “the R, which received 9-cent rating.” Most of the other subways, including the R-train received quite a bit better than the 55 cent C train.
Customers who live on this train as well as visitors to the area should be put on red-alert. Especially when the protective team is putting up letters which far overdue the miserable 55 cent rating from the C-train.
