Miranda Lambert has earned the most CMA Award nominations for a female artist in the CMA’s history. Four additional nominations were added to her count this morning for a total of nine, and Lambert, upon learning she has a chance of taking home entertainer of the year, simply said “Wow, I just can’t believe it.”
The country singer was actually with Dierks Bentley on GMA this morning as they made the announcements for additional nominations. Having earned nine nominations puts Lambert at a tie with Merle Haggard who earned nine as well in 1970. Alan Jackson had the most nominations with 10 in 2002.
Regarding snatching the ‘entertainer of the year’, Lambert will face some tough competition standing alongside Lady Antebellum, the Zac Brown Band, Brad Paisley and Keith Urban.

In preparation for the 44th Annual American Country Music Awards in Nashville on Wednesday, Lambert told People she’s “excited” about showing off her new size six size.
With a personal trainer traveling with Lambert, the 26-year-old singer was able to lose weight and tone up. Lambert told People at Monday rehearsals, “My trainer’s been kicking my butt. It’s not so much losing weight as toning up, getting rid of the jiggles and wiggles.”
Fiance Blake Shelton who received 4 nominations spoke to People as well stating, “She set a goal for herself, worked hard and I am so proud of her.”
In addition to being nominated for entertainer of the year, Lambert is also up for female vocalist of the year, album of the year, song of the year (“White Liar”), single of the year and album of the year for both “White Liar” and “The House That Built Me”, and musical event for “Bad Angel” with Dierks Bentley and Jamey Johnson.
