If you are in Houston and crave some crepes, then Coco’s Crepes and Coffee is definitely the place to go to. The place is located at Vintage Park at 218 West Gray in the downtown area and their hours of operations are Sunday through Thursday from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 12 a.m. and the prices are decent. It is a great place to start your morning, especially if you work in the area or to have an afternoon coffee and crepe while catching up with a friend or two.
For their drink sections the best ones for the coffee lovers are the espresso con panna (whipped cream) for $1.70, the vanilla coco crème or a caramel crisp $2.95 or a simple cappuccino for $2.70. If you prefer cold drinks go with one of their smoothies like the belly buster which has peaches, banana, peanut butter, soy milk and chocolate for $3.30 or the tropical kiss which has mango, pineapple, strawberries, soy milk, orange juice and coconut for $3.95.
What is really good here are the crepes where you can choose to either have a salty or a sweet one and if you are really hungry you can order one of each. For the salty or savory crepes go for the one that has Moroccan sausage, caramelized onions, mozzarella cheese, mushrooms and a sun dried tomato pesto sauce for $6.95, or the gallete which includes a whole wheat crepe with roasted vegetables, tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach, cheddar and roasted red pepper pesto sauce for $7.95, or the delicious breakfast crepe which includes egg, cheddar and Moroccan sausage for $6.50.
And for your sweet tooth the sweet crepes are to die for, they are very simple but extremely sweet like the crepe almondine with Nutella and almonds for $3.95, or the Coco’s classic which has bananas, peanut butter and jelly for $4.50, or the crepe Suzette which has butter, brown sugar, lemon juice and vanilla gelato or the bananas foster crepe which has warm caramel, bananas, whipped cream and vanilla gelato for $6.50.
However if you stop for lunch and are not really in the mood for crepes, you can choose one of their Panini’s like the grilled chicken breast with roasted tomatoes, mozzarella, spinach and basil pesto for $6.95 or the smoked salmon with cream cheese, red onions, capers and spinach and basil pesto for $6.95.
