Florida State Seminoles vs South Carolina Gamecocks -3

Penn St Nittany Lions vs Florida Gators -7
Urban Meyer will coach his last game for the Florida Gators against the legendary Joe Paterno. Both teams are under .500 against the spread away from home. This is not the Florida team of the last few years. They have been inconsistent this season and sloppy at times.
Penn St is in the same boat. They have been inconsistent and have struggled much of the season. The quarterback position has been an issue this season but as they head into this game Matt McGloin is the man. Penn St has the edge with experience and defense. Take the Penn St Nittany +7 and they will win this game straight up. Make this a high confidence pick in office pools.
January 1st 1 p.m. ESPN: Capital One Bowl in Orlando
Michigan State Spartans vs Alabama Crimson Tide -11

Alabama is 4-2 against the spread away from home and is a big favorite for a reason. One issue is Alabama’s failure to play well in bowl games when they are not in the BCS. Take Alabama to win this game by more than 11 points but choose a medium confidence number for office pools.
January 1st 1:30 p.m. ESPN 2: Gator Bowl in Jacksonville
Michigan Wolverines vs Mississippi State Bulldogs -6
Michigan is another team that has failed to cover the spread consistently this season. Michigan is 3-9 against the spread this season and 1-4 against the spread when away from home. Michigan started out strong with Denard Robinson and then fell apart late in the season. A New Years Day bowl game may not be enough to save Rich Rodriguez this season.
The Mississipi State Bulldogs are 6-6 against the spread and 3-4 against the spread away from their home. They have not been able to put together a consistent offense under the guidance of Dan Mullen and now with Cam Newton controversy have been in the spotlight most of the season. This along with speculation Mullen is leaving for Florida makes it tough to pick Mississippi State. Then again they are playing Michigan. Take Mississippi State -6 and use a high confidence pick in the office pool.
January 1st 5 p.m. ESPN: Rose Bowl presented by Vizio in Pasadena
TCU Horned Frogs -2.5 vs Wisconsin Badgers
Wisconsin has been a monster with the running game this season but they will play a tough TCU defense in this game. This will be a classic game of the best run offense versus the best run defense. TCU allows 89 yards per game on the ground and Wisconsin averages 260 yards per game on the ground. Something has to give in this game and the big boys on the Wisconsin offensive line will have the edge.
Both teams are 7-5 against the spread this season, Wisconsin is 4-3 against the spread away from home and TCU is 3-2 against the spread away from the comforts of home. This could be an opportunity for TCU to prove themselves but they may get worn down in the second half by the big offensive line of Wisconsin. Take Wisconsin +2.5 points to win this game straight up. Make this a low confidence pick.
January 1st 8:30 p.m. ESPN: Tostitos Fiesta Bowl in Glendale
Connecticut Huskies vs Oklahoma Sooners -17
17 points may be a lot of points to cover for Oklahoma but Connecticut received a gift to play in this New Years Day bowl game. Connecticut is 2-4 against the spread on the road and Oklahoma is 5-2 against the spread away from home. Oklahoma has laid eggs in bowl games before but they should cover 17 against the Huskies. Use a high confidence pick in this game.
January 3rd 8:30 p.m. ESPN: Discover Orange Bowl in Miami
Virginia Tech Hokies vs Stanford Cardinal -3
Virginia Tech won all four games on the road against the spread this season. Stanford was 3-3 against the spread on the road against stiffer competition. This is a three time zone travel game for Stanford a team that has not traveled past Indiana this season.
Virginia Tech is a good sleeper in this game. They match up well against Jim Harbaugh and his Stanford Cardinal offense. Virginia tech has been money in the bank for bettors all season. They are 10-3 against the spread and that includes their two losses to start the season against Boise State. Virginia Tech is 10-1 against the spread since late September. Take Virginia Tech +3 over the Stanford Cardinal and make them a very high confidence pick.
January 4th Allstate Sugar Bowl in New Orleans
Arkansas Razorbacks vs Ohio State Buckeyes -3
Ohio State and Arkansas could be one of the best games of the 2010 bowl game season. Both teams are strong on offense and solid on defense. Ohio State will run the ball right at Arkansas and their run defense may crumble late in this game. Arkansas has a strong passing game led by Ryan Mallet. They are passing for 338 yards per game.
Arkansas is 9-3 against the spread and 4-2 against the spread away from home. Ohio State has not lost against the spread on the road this season. Ohio State and Terrelle Pryor have played well in these spots in the past and no one is better than Jim Tressel when it comes to prep for a big bowl game. Take Ohio State -3 over Arkansas and make this a high confidence pick in office pools.

Texas A&M Aggies vs LSU Tigers -1
Texas A&M is a strong team that has not received much publicity this season. They are 3-1 against the spread on the road but this could be considered a home game. LSU is 3-4 against the spread on the road and they could win this game on defense. This game will be close and could be decided by a field goal in the last seconds. Take LSU -1 and make this a low confidence pick.
January 8th Noon ESPN: BBVA Compass Bowl in Mobile
Kentucky Wildcats vs Pittsburgh Panthers -2
Pittsburgh will be without their head coach Dave Wannestadt as they head into this game which throws this game up in the air. Kentucky is 1-4 against the spread away from home and Pitt is 3-3 against the spread on the road. Take the Kentucky Wildcats +2 and make it a low confidence pick.
January 9th 9 p.m. ESPN: Kraft Fight Hunger San Francisco
Boston College vs Nevada Wolfpack -9
Nevada plays this game in their back yard. They beat one of the best teams in the coutry this and shocked the world but they were on their home field. Colin Kaepernick would have won at least one Heisman in his career if he had played at a BCS school but he broke every conceivable NCAA record in his career as the Nevada Wolfpack quarterback. This will be his game that gets him drafted as a Brad Smith (New York Jets). Take Colin Kaepernick and Nevada Wolfpack -9 and make this a high confidence pick.
January 10th 8;30 p.m. ESPN: BCS National Championship Game in Pasadena
Oregon Ducks vs Auburn Tigers -3
This game was originally posted with Oregon as the three point favorite. Oregon has lost the confidence of the betting public as Cam Newton has survived the scrutiny of an FBI investigation and an NCAA Investigation. One thing to consider is that a Heisman Trophy winner usually loses their bowl game, including their BCS game. Take the Oregon Ducks +3 to win this game straight up. Make this a high confidence pick.
