College football scores today include several great games later in the day. The college football scores that started Saturday were not so kind to the underdog teams though, as many smaller schools got crushed by some of the higher ranked schools around the country. That was extremely evident in the Oregon blowout of New Mexico, as well as Georgia beating LA-Lafayette and Florida State crushing Samford.
Most of the ranked teams are on the docket for Saturday, even though a few games took place on Thursday, and two highly ranked teams are waiting for Monday to play. That Monday night game is Boise State vs. Virginia Tech, in a game that has all of the makings of a bowl game. Thursday night scores are linked at the bottom of the article for those that are interested in checking out the eight games that took place on opening night.
There are several games that will get a late start on Sunday, and we will update them as the final scores come in to play. Up until then, there are also quite a few games that have already concluded, and are showing fans around the world of college football which teams are really ready to make a run at having the best offense on the field. Pay close attention to the teams at the University of Oregon and at Florida State, who were able to rest their starters after dominating the first half of their games.
ESPN is also featuring a great match-up between No. 6 TCU and No. 24 Oregon State this evening, so tune in if you want to see some great college football. In one of the game featuring two unranked teams, Jacksonville State went into Mississippi and upset Ole Miss in overtime. The final score there was 49-48 in favor of Jacksonville State. That is definitely not the way that Ole Miss wanted to start out the 2010 college football season, especially since they were up by 21 points at one point of the game.
