Show off your pet’s personality and playful side at Sunnyvale’s 2010 Howl’oween Pet Parade & Faire in downtown Sunnyvale on October 30. The annual pet parade will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and the pet faire will run from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. No registration is required and walk-up registrations are welcome. Judges will be looking for the top 3 best pet costumes. Costumes can be funny, scary or creative. Costumes that target political candidates, social issues, or special interest groups are not permitted.
Judges will also look for the best human costume in three age groups: 6 & under, ages 7-15, and 16 and over. Children under age 12 with a pet must be accompanied by an adult.
Other categories include best combo costume where a pet and their owner share a similar theme; best group costume with a minimum of four participants in a group; and best foot powered floats.
There will also be an American Pet Idol pet talent show where owners can showcase their pet’s favorite trick and a dog treat stacking contest where participants of all ages have 30 seconds to stack up as many dog treats as they can in 30 seconds.
