WWE fans in Connecticut may be forced to change their clothing if they show up to the November 2nd polls wearing any WWE merchandise. Connecticut Secretary of State Susan Bysiewicz gave this authority to local poll workers on October 22nd.
Vince McMahon released his own statement saying “Denying our fans the right to vote, denying them their First Amendment rights, regardless if they are Democrat, Republican or Independent, is un-American, unconstitutional and blatantly discriminatory.”
I have to agree with Mr. McMahon on this statement. It should not matter what someone wears to the polls, whether they are wearing are shirt for their favorite sports team or a shirt with nothing on it at all.
Just because Linda McMahon is running for Senate, they don’t want people wearing WWE merchandise. They are assuming that WWE fans are going to vote for Linda McMahon, but that is not necessarily true. WWE fans could also want to vote for Richard Blumenthal.
I guess WWE fans in Connecticut will have to bust out their old school WWF gear.
