Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura Season 2 began last night. But this venue isn’t the only place for Ventura to make conspiracy theories. The former governor, wrestler and NAVY Seal now spends his time exposing alleged government secrets on TruTV, which he talked about with Joy Behar on her HLN show on Thursday. Behar was already in the news for walking out on Bill O’Reilly, which her guest agreed with. But the conspiracy theory that Ventura later proposed exceeded even that story, as he furthered the 9/11 “inside job” theory.
This wasn’t the first time that Ventura talked about 9/11, as he also devoted an episode of his show to theories on the attack. Over the years, the 9/11 “truther” movement has claimed that the government blew up the World Trade Center, believing that the planes couldn’t have made the towers collapse.
Ventura merely talked about the Plum Island Animal Disease Center on the debut episode of season 2. But his claims that the center is being used to develop bio-weapons seems tame, compared to the charge that 9/11 was an inside job.
Ventura somehow worked that into the discussion over Behar’s spat with O’Reilly on The View. Behar continued her objection to O’Reilly’s statement that “Muslims killed us on 9/11.” But her guest went a step further, asking whether Muslims were even involved.
In the second episode of Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura, the show proposed there was a cover-up of the black box recordings on the 9/11 planes. To him, it could have been evidence that someone else directed the planes to crash, instead of Muslim terrorists.
Not only did Ventura repeat this theory on Behar’s show, he got into an even more heated argument on FOX News. Although he called O’Reilly a “spineless puke” after The View incident, he also went on FOX’s Follow The Money that day. Once again, talk over the mosque gave Ventura the chance to say Muslims never killed us, stating that the towers exploded instead of collapsed.
The 9/11 “truthers” are convinced that explosives were used to destroy the towers, so that Americans would want to bomb the Middle East. This was among the first topics on Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura, which he is even more eager to stand by a year later.
These beliefs have spread over the years, thanks in part to Ventura, Alex Jones and the truther movement. Over time, it may rival the JFK and Area 51 conspiracy movements, if it hasn’t already.
But those old favorites will also be part of Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura Season 2, as it airs every Friday night at 10 pm est on TruTV.
