The baby food diet is the diet that supposedly was created by celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson, who has had some well known clients such as Jennifer Aniston, Gwyneth Pathrow and Madonna.
What is the basis of the diet?
The diet is similar to a cleansing diet. Yet, you are still allowed to eat. The foods however on this diet are mostly the puree variety, thus the basis of the baby food diet.
Trainer, Tracy Anderson, feels that when one is on a basic liquid cleanse one will just end up gaining the weight he/she lost as soon as he/she begins eating again. Yet, on this type of diet one is still eating foods; the foods are just pureed.
This type of diet also allows your body to remove toxins, break bad habits and to lose weight while providing it with some of the necessary vitamins it needs for energy.
What are the rules of the diet?
You are allowed 14 serving of baby food per day. You can mix and match them according to your tastes.
Each serving is supposed to be between 80 to 100 calories each.
Can you lose weight?
If you calculate the calories of 14 jars of baby food, generally, you will come up with a number of 1,000 calories. This is well below the suggested caloric intake per day. For this reason, yes, you can lose weight.
Could the average person stay on this diet for a long period of time?
No. Most adults will miss the function of chewing. For this reason, most people will not be able to stay on this diet for a long period of time.
Is this diet a health diet for adults?
One might guess that this would be a healthy diet. Yet, in fact, the calorie intake is too low for an adult to follow for a long period of time and the diet does not meet the health needs for an adult. Baby food is healthy for babies. It is in fact intended for babies. Yet, they do not have all the necessary vitamins adults need. Adults are bigger and thus they need more vitamins and minerals per day.
If you want to lose a few pounds and like the taste of baby food, you might want to give this diet a go. But be warned, baby food is not a cheap way to lose weight, either.
