Last spring’s season finale of Grey’s Anatomy was the bloodiest TV episode I’d ever seen. None of the key characters died, and I felt that they basically got rid of some of the show’s annoying characters, such as Reed and Charlie (though Charlie was starting to grow on me!).
The writers didn’t leave any loose ends, and I hope they will dive head first into fresh story lines without forcing us to watch everyone in the hospital mope and mourn. I hope the romances will be put on the back burner for a while, and that the season will focus more on medicine and drama. I don’t want any more Meredith/Derek drama or any Owen and Christina nonsense. I wish the show would go back to giving us nail biting drama like the bomb episodes from season two and the serial killer storyline from season five. Here are a few things I’d like to see this season:
–Own and Chris break up for good.
–April becomes more likable
–Lexie finds a new boyfriend–I HATE her with Sloan and Alex!
–Jackson gets a big storyline
–Richard earns his job back
I am a loyal fan and I’ve stuck with the show through some rough spots, in particular the Dizzie ghost sex from a couple of seasons ago. Ughh. For me, the best seasons of Grey’s Anatomy were 1-3. The show had a cast that I loved, many of which have exited, especially Dr. Hahn and Dr. Burke. The drama among the cast during the early seasons had a great balance, and I miss it. I certainly hope that Grey’s hasn’t run its course, and that the writers will find a way to breathe new life into it. I love the friendship between Chris and Meredith and I love the show’s dialogue (most of the time). As long as those two things exist, I’ll keep watching.
Grey’s Anatomy will premiere on ABC on September 23, 2010 at 9 P.M./EST.
