Court Street Grocers at 485 Court Street in Carroll Gardens is now fully open, Brownstoner reports.
It has been months since the small, nabe grocer started their expansion project into the adjoining space. But now the general store and deli is complete with a sandwich shop and a seating area for patrons.
The entire project is the brainchild of Eric Finkelstein and Matt Ross, two graduates of Williamsburg’s Bedford Cheese Shop and Balducci’s. With Caputo’s and Prime Meats already in the neighborhood, the duo vowed to swing the locavore route and skip the Italian specialties already covered by the established purveyors.
“No $12 ketchup,” was an additional promise made to Metromix earlier in the year.
While the store did hand out sandwich samples this Halloween, they are now fully and completely operational. So feel free to live out any of your “Little House on the Prairie” fantasies and stop by the general store for a few goods. Just be sure to talk to Nels, I hear Harriet can be a real piece of work.
