According to CNN, Craigslist is being called upon to stop posting adult services yet again. Craigslist, I love you, but will you please stop with the smut? I have grand-kids in the house. I have you bookmarked so I can peruse estate sales on the weekends. The last thing I need is to have one of my grandchildren find those other ads while surfing the web. We have parental controls but it doesn’t seem to matter. Luckily, I’m not the only one who feels this way. Who’s joining me in this appeal? The Attorney’s General in 17 states.
Why are the Attorney’s General appealing to Craigslist? It seems Craigslist does virtually nothing to discourage postings by those engaged in prostitution and pornography, including child pornography. By continuing to accept Adult Services ads, Craigslist is promoting criminal activity in order to make a profit. Surely, Craigslist is aware that not all their posters are on the up and up. After all, this is a multimillion dollar site. I highly doubt it’s being run by ignorant people. So, come on, Craigslist, get a conscience and stop prostituting yourself by allowing the posting of adult services ads.
