When you add new events to your website calendar using WebCalendar, you will need to place them in categories. You will have to create these categories before adding your events. This guide will show you how to create event categories, and manage those categories in WebCalendar. You will need to login to your calendar and we will get started with this guide on event categories.
You will first need to open the categories page. To do this, place your mouse on your Settings link at the top of your window. That will open the settings menu and you will see the Categories option. Click the Categories option and your event categories will load. This is where you will create your new category.
To create a new category, you can click the Make New Category link on this page. This is probably the only thing on the event categories page since this is your first category. When you click the link, you will see the page reload and the fields you will need to fill in to create your new event category. Below are the fields you will see.
Category Name – The first field is where you type the name of the category you are creating.
Color – This is where you select the color you want the category to be. You can click the color box and click the color you want to use. Any time you see an event that is in this category, it will be the color you chose for this category.
Category Icon – If you want to use an icon to represent this category, click the Browse button and select the icon you want to use.
When you are finished with the above three fields, you can click the Add button to create your first event category. You will then be redirected to the page where you will see your category and create another one if you want.
To edit a category, you will need to open the event categories page. Click event category you want to edit and the page will reload. On the reloaded page, you will see the fields you first seen when you created the category. Edit what you need and click the Save button to update it.
If you need to delete a category, you will also need to open the event category page. Click the category you want to delete, and click the Delete button at the bottom of the next page.
