Opening the New Users Page in Joomla
To open your new users page, follow these steps. Place your mouse on the Site button in your top menu. When the menu expands, look for the User Manager link. Click the User Manager link and the User Manager page will load. This is where you create new users and manage users.
Creating a New User in Joomla
To create a new user, you will need to click the New button in the top, right menu. On the following page, you will see the fields that need to be filled in to create the new user for your Joomla site. Let’s take a look at the fields in this section.
Name – Type the name of the user you are creating in this field.
Username – Then type a username for the user in this field. The username can be anything you want.
Email – This is where you will need to type the user’s email address. This is the address they will receive newsletters and other email from your Joomla site.
Password – Create a password for this field. The user can change it once they login.
Verify Password – Repeat the password in this field to make sure they match.
Group – Select the group you want to place the user in by clicking one of the groups in this box.
Block User – Since you are creating a new user, you will not want to block the user, so click No.
Receive System Emails – If you want the user to receive emails that you send out, select the Yes option.
Adding the New User to Your Joomla Site
When you are finished filling in the fields, you can add the new user to your site. To add the new user, click the Save button at the top of your Joomla page. Then you can click the Close button to return to the User Manager page.
