Hosting a baby shower during the winter months, can really be a lot of fun. Just because it is winter time, this does not mean that your entire theme has to be a winter time theme. Of course a winter theme can really be beautiful and fun to plan. Below you will find several ideas on how you can really make your winter time baby shower stand out.
Winter themed food ideas
The first thing you will want to start with is the food. Since it is winter time, it may be a good idea to have some warm tasty food for the shower. For a winter themed shower, finger sandwiches may not be a good fit. Instead if you have a crock-pot you can easily make a big enough meal to feed your guests. What is really nice about the crock-pot is that you can serve the food directly from the pot. First find out what types of food the expecting mom really enjoys. Then you will want to find a crock-pot recipe that will fit with what they like. On the day of the baby shower, you and place the entire pot on the table and around it you can put some plastic service bowls or plates. This can be your main course. Some side dishes to go along with you nice warm meal can include salad, and of course a nice vegetable platter with a dip. For dessert you can have a nice winter themed cake or cupcakes. I have found that a nice cupcake stand filled with cupcakes topped with white icing and little baby decals looks really nice. This will not only add to the décor of your table but it will be a lot easier for your guests to just pick up a cupcake and eat. Remember that it is winter time so you will want food that will help warm up your guests as well as satisfy their sweet tooth.
Winter themed decorations
When it comes to the decorations you can use diapers and make them look like little snowflakes. You can then hang them up around the room. You can use small newborn diapers and some white string. You simple tie the string around the diaper to form the snowflake shape. It may take a few tries to get it just right but it will really be worth it in the end. Since it is winter time you can use white balloons instead of colored ones, as well as a white tablecloth. To add a touch of baby color you can use baby signs and hang them up around the room, on top of the white backdrop.
Party Favors that fit the theme
When it comes to the party favors you can still stick with the winter theme. You can have little baby snowman as party favors. You can easily find little snowman figurines and use material to put diapers on them. You can then tie a ribbon around the neck of the snowman with the mom and dad to be name on it. This will be a cute keepsake that each family can keep. You may also be able to find discounted winter themed frames that you can have as party favors. Putting together little winter themed favors can be a lot of fun.
