A beautiful 2D action game that looks like a painting in motion. Not as hard to get into as previous Vanillaware titles like Odin Sphere, Muramasa is a great place to start for those looking for light RPG elements mixed in with their action.
Little Kings Story- $15.00 on Amazon
This game puts you in charge of a small town that you can upgrade through combat and adventuring. You can assign your followers to several different occupations: farmers, warriors, or even carpenters- your crown grants you the power to order them to do anything that will help build your empire.
Boom Blox 2- $19.96 on Amazon
The stellar sequel to Steven Spielberg’s Boom Blox offers even more gameplay modes and customization in the map maker. Being able to share your creations online means that there will always be interesting new content to check out whenever you boot the game up. This physics based puzzler is sure to be fun for the whole family, including game modes that make old family favorites like Jenga or Don’t Break the Ice obsolete.
Sin and Punishment 2– $18.56 on Amazon
Brutally difficult but insanely addicting, Sin and Punishment 2 is what every shooter fan has been waiting for. It offers old school twitch gameplay combined with an unforgiving level of challenge- but you’ll love every minute of it. Famed video game developer Treasure has once again created a top notch shooter that any fan of the original, or Nintendo’s own Starfox, should definitely check out.

Developed by Team Ninja in collaboration with the man who created the SNES classic Super Metroid, Metroid: Other M offers a different take on the beloved franchise, instead focusing on story and fast paced action over exploration and back tracking. A new dodging maneuver and intense finishing moves allow Samus to destroy her enemies with more style and grace than ever before.
Red Steel 2- $16.27 on Amazon
While the first Red Steel may have disappointed a lot of gamers with its lackluster swordplay, the sequel makes good on the first games’ promise with the addition of Wii Motion Plus. I am sure many of you have the device laying around, it came with Nintendo’s Wii Sports Resort. Why not put it to good use on a game that has an incredible cell shaded art style and excellent combat that really gets the player involved?
Dead Space: Extraction– $12.36 on Amazon
A rail shooter prequel to the original Dead Space, which premiered on the Xbox 360 and PS3, Extraction offers a new layer of depth to the genre with the use of telekinetic powers and secondary forms of fire for the weapons. It also happens to be one of the most gorgeous games with a realistic presentation available on the system.
