Season 11 of the popular CSI program serious aired Episode 7 entitled “Bump and Grind” on Thursday, November 4th. The investigatory team and Jim Brass handled a messy situation when a truck driver called the police about an ooze that was coming from the back of the truck. The ooze proved to be blood. Nick, Ray and Brass had the truck driver open the truck. The truck was filled with shredded items including body parts.
The beginning of “Bump and Grind” set the plot of the movie showing an individual making soup that contained a shredded credit card and a human ear. The soup was force fed to a severely beaten man tied to a chair.
Catherine, Nick, Sara and Greg are sent to the refuse center where the truck was loaded. The refuse center is a special location where businesses send refuse that needs shredding. The CSI team produces a warrant and sorts the refuse from the truck to find all the shredded body parts. Small pieces of a shredded credit card are found in the debris.
The body parts and the small shards of credit card are taken to the lab. Dr. Robins examines the body parts and finds a bullet fragment in a skull fragment. The skull fragment also shows signs of trauma besides being put through a shredder. Greg works at putting together the small credit card shards and is able to get a name from the small piece of magnetic strip. The credit card reveals it belongs to Larry Lamotte, a prominent businessman who sells identify protection.
Ray and Brass go to Lamotte’s place of business and are told by the executive assistant, Elaine Travers, and head of security, Julius Kaplan, that Mr. Lamotte is on vacation. Mr. Lamotte surprisingly steps into the scene. Investigation is done into Lamotte and it is soon discovered that he has stolen the identification of the real Larry Lamotte. His real name is Lee DeVries and he shot his former friend Lamotte in a scuffle.
All leads point to the new Lamotte as being the murderer especially when Julius Kaplan is found dead. A twist in the investigation arises when the new Lamotte is killed and yet a rental car is picked up in his real name, Lee DeVries. A pursuit is set in motion and the rental car is pulled over. Inside the car is the murder – executive assistant Elaine Travers.
