Cupcakes Squared located in San Diego, California is too sweet for words! I’m a cupcake junkie so I’m always on-the-go for a new place to get my cupcake fix. A recommendation from a good friend led me to Cupcakes Squared in the heart of Point Loma, a suburb of San Diego.
The location was fantastic! Most places I’ve been to have terrible parking. Cupcakes Squared was situated in a parking plaza surrounded by a lot of other stores and many parking spots to choose from.
The store itself was pretty small inside but it was really cute! You can’t sit inside the shop which was one of the downfalls especially in this hot California weather! There are two cute tables outside of the store for your convenience.
The prices were reasonable from $2.75-$3.75. I ordered the “Not-So-Red-Velvet” flavor which was to absolutely die for! I only ordered one cupcake but I was sold after one bite. The cupcake was formed into a square shape, hence the company named, Cupcakes Squared with a peel-off wrapper that was nice. With the cupcake, I was able to taste the hint of cocoa and vanilla at the same time. The frosting was cream cheese, not too sweet and definitely not over-powering. They put your cupcakes in a to-go box that perfectly fits the cupcake.
The biggest downfall I would say is the staff. They don’t greet you as you walk in and aren’t smiling when they take your orders. I’ve heard complaints from customers who came in before me complaining that the staff is rude. I do recommend this place for the quality of their cupcakes though! The cupcakes were all in all very delightful!
