According to TV Guide, SyFy announced today they are introducing a new reality show called UFO: Unbelievably Freakin’ Obvious. Investigations of conspiracy theories surrounding unexplained activity and paranormal phenomena often lead to conspiracy theories. Billy Ray Cyrus and his son, Trace, will investigate those theories, and the events that caused them. At that point, they will offer their own explanation.
Aside from entertainment for those who can never get enough Cyrus, be it Billy Ray or Miley, aka Hannah Montana, the show will have other benefits. Trace, 21, was a guitarist and vocalist in the pop-rock band, Metro-Station, until it disbanded earlier this year. He will gain some valuable television experience. Billy Ray and Trace will get some serious bonding time as they travel across the country analyzing mysterious events.
The Country-Western singer is best known for his hit song, Achy Breaky Heart, and starring with his daughter, Miley, as Hannah Montana’s dad on Disney’s television show, Hannah Montana.
Contact Music reported Billy Ray Cyrus as saying that he has always been interested in this type of unexplained activity. Most people have the same type of interest, which is usually shot down by the same conspiracy theories that will be investigated. “It’s a government plot” comes to mind, and my all-time favorite, having lived in Southern California much of my life, “Authorities say the mysterious, hovering, lights (or whatever the weird thing was that happened) that lit up the sky last night are the result of testing at Vandenberg Air Force Base.” We were supposed to accept that statement as true. Now perhaps we will get a different take on what may have caused those strange events.
Production on the show is scheduled to start this autumn. It is fairly certain that the public will get plenty of advance notice before the first show airs.
