The Dallas Cowboys 2010 schedule is about to open on Sunday night. The Dallas Cowboys 2010 schedule begins with the Washington Redskins in a primetime game that is bound to entertain Cowboys fans around the country. If these Dallas Cowboys are indeed still “America’s Team”, then the ratings are going to be huge for NBC during their first Sunday night game of the season. The Dallas vs. Washington rivalry might be about to come to life again, and it’s about time, because the Redskins haven’t been a great team in a while. Now that they brought Donovan McNabb in as their starting quarterback though, these Redskins might be a team that the Cowboys have to worry about in the division again.
The first game of the season for Dallas will come on Sunday, September 12, with the live broadcast on NBC. It’s a tough way to open the season, but the Cowboys are going to have plenty of tougher games on the schedule later in the season. The first really tough game could come in week three, when they have to travel across the state to Houston in order to play the Texans. This Texans team is out to make a run at the 2010 NFL Playoffs, and the franchise is at its peak right now. That could make them a very dangerous opponent for the Cowboys, and one that they don’t want to overlook in week three. With the bye week following that game, they need to just leave everything on the field.
Dallas might have an easier time winning the division now that the Philadelphia Eagles have gone into rebuilding mode and parted ways with Donovan McNabb, but they could become a threat again if the Eagles decide to put Michael Vick into the role of starting quarterback. In the 2010 NFC, the Cowboys also seem to have the most well-rounded team, with a lot of talent on both offense and defense that could lead this team during the 2010 season. That will be much needed when they get into the grueling middle part of their schedule, because there are some really tough games buried in there. In week five they have to play the Tennessee Titans, followed by the Minnesota Vikings in week six, and then the Green bay Packers in week nine. Then they will host the New Orleans Saints in the Thanksgiving Day game this year, and that could be the biggest regular season challenge of the year.
The will be an interesting year for Dallas Cowboys fans, and they will hope to get off to a hot start in week 1 against their rival.
