The Dancing With the Stars 2010 lineup had mixed results in Week 1. But last night, the Dancing With the Stars lineup showed improved results in the judges’ scores. Only four dancers got higher than 20 points in Week 1, but for Week 2, seven contestants got over that hump. A few of them badly needed to do so, after poor opening performances, although others regressed even further. This leaves the lineup hoping their results last night will save them, or that they won’t be a death blow.
While Jennifer Grey, Brandy, Rick Fox and Kyle Massey jumped out early in Week 1, many of the other participants got off on the wrong foot. For the start of Week 2, several of last week’s low-scorers made a marked improvement, at least on the judges’ scores.
Once again, the Dancing With the Stars lineup had Jennifer Grey lead the judges’ results, with another score of 24. But this time, it was Audrina Patridge who finished second, as her quickstep got her up to 23. Another big surprise was in who tied for third with Kyle Massey.
Bristol Palin finished in the middle of the results on Week 1, and made an even bigger move last night. Her quickstep routine closed the episode with a 22, although more headlines were made when the audience appeared to boo her mother. But Sarah Palin appeared to give good luck to her daughter nonetheless.
Other improved contestants were Kurt Warner, who got a 21; Florence Henderson, who improved to get 19 points; and The Situation and Margaret Cho, who had nowhere to go but up with 18 points each. Brandy and Rick Fox slipped a bit to 21, yet they were well ahead of the new bottom feeder.
A few contestants tied for last in Week 1, but the clear last place dancer in Week 2 was Michael Bolton. In fact, his jive routine was called one of the worst ever by Bruno, as Bolton could only muster 12 points. This makes him the clear favorite to get voted out tonight, especially since several others showed some form of improvement in Week 2.
The Dancing With the Stars 2010 lineup is still forming a pecking order, but last night’s results made it a bit more complicated. With Patridge, Palin and Warner rising up the ranks, it could make things more interesting if they keep it up. However, with Grey finishing first again, it may have made her more of an undisputed favorite.
Tonight, the lineup will go down to 10 after the second results show, eliminating another piece of Grey’s competition. The countdown starts at 9 p.m. est on ABC.
