Dancing with the Stars 2010 week 4 airs Monday evening and will feature the remaining nine celebrity hoofers sexin’ it up to the smooth tunes of the reality show’s first-ever Acoustic Week. While eight of the nine will survive to dance again courtesy of their Rumbas and Argentine Tangos, one will go the way of previously dissed and dismissed DWTS season 11 contestants David Hasselhoff, Michael Bolton and Margaret Cho. Wondering who’s likely to be hot and who’s definitely not? Read on for some Dancing with the Stars week 4 spoilers and speculation.
Dancing with the Stars week 4 couple spoilers and preview #1: Audrina Patridge and Tony Dovolani, Argentine Tango. The reality star set the bar high during DWTS week 3 with her touching ‘last dance with Tony’ waltz, earning a season-topping 26 points and dethroning actress Jennifer Grey for the first time. Despite some demonstrated dancefloor chops, it’ll be hard to Audrina to hang on to the top spot during week 4, if only because she and Jennifer will both deliver Argentine Tangos, and Jen has the expressive advantage, given her vocation. But I still expect good things; perhaps a silver medal?
Dancing with the Stars week 4 couple spoilers and preview #2: Brandy and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Rumba. No amount of ‘I love Maks’ tape across the mouth will make me love the R&B singer and actress, whose bizarre — and frankly, diva-esque — behavior has taken the sizzle out of her step. Given their tumultuous relationship and sketchy chemistry, I’m not holding my breath for a steamy Rumba. Average? Sure. Even a little above? Probably. But don’t uncoil the fire hoses.
Dancing with the Stars week 4 couple spoilers and preview #3: Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas, Rumba. Whether or not the teen activist can pull off a sultry, sexy Rumba is one of the most anticipated mysteries of week 4. Her more voluptuous figure could lend itself nicely to a sizzlin’ sling around the ballroom, but if she can’t loosen up, no amount of curvy appeal can save her from the judges’ punishing paddles or the glare of the red lights.
Dancing with the Stars week 4 couple spoilers and preview #4: Florence Henderson and Corky Ballas, Rumba. Her week 3 Edelweis Waltz was sweet, but the thought of the actress taking on the dance of loooooove is a little scary. Maybe I’m being unduly unfair, but I’m picturing awkward moment after awkward moment, tied up with a pretty yellow (and awkward) bow. She clearly has a great fan base, but I’m not sure week 5 is in her future, unless she pulls out some major stops.
Dancing with the Stars week 4 couple spoilers and preview #5: Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough, Argentine Tango. Score of 24-Land has been a safe place so far for this powerhouse duo, but can they really break through this week and earn a 9 or two? I think so. The Argentine Tango is the perfect platform for some serious acting and equally serious footwork, and since Jen can master both, I suspect she’ll reclaim the top spot.
Dancing with the Stars week 4 couple spoilers and preview #6: Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya, Rumba. I’m not sure what to think of this one. One of Kurt’s strengths in the ballroom is his natural elegance and grace. Oh, and that smile. I’m not sure that any of those qualities will help him with the sexy bedroom dance. I’m also not sure that he’ll be able to really get into character with his wife sitting right there in the audience. This could be a bad week for the NFL star.
Dancing with the Stars week 4 couple spoilers and preview #7: Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer, Rumba. I’m even less about this one than I am about Kurt or Florence. Lacey’s going to have to work some serious magic to create a believable routine, and I just don’t know that her magic wand — or anyone’s, for that matter — has enough dust to make it happen. Of course, the audience will love the lovable actor no matter how awful his footwork, but eventually the judges will stop being generous.
Dancing with the Stars week 4 couple spoilers and preview #8: Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino and Karina Smirnoff, Argentine Tango. The Situation’s natural stiffness has plagued him thus far in the competition, but it may well come in handy during week 4, as long as he can maintain good posture and really capture the essence of the dance. I’m not holding my breath, but it may well turn out to be a surprisingly decent offering.
Dancing with the Stars week 4 couple spoilers and preview #9: Rick Fox and Cheryl Burke, Argentine Tango. The judges simply love the former Laker, so I’m not even going to bother making predictions about the actual dance, and just say that Bruno, Carrie Ann and Len will give him good scores whether or not they’re actually warranted.
Tune in to ABC at 8 PM on Monday to watch Dancing with the Stars 2010 week 4 to see the ballroom action as it unfolds. Will I be right? Will I be wrong? Who knows. But I’ll be back post-show with a complete review and some slightly snarky commentary.
