Rock and Roll will reign come Monday evening as Dancing with the Stars week 6 airs on ABC. Each of the seven remaining celebs and their pro partners will strut their stuff to the shakin’ sounds of rock music during the usual solo routines. In addition, the hit reality show will feature the cast taking part in a Rock and Roll dance marathon. Who has the chops to tame Cranky Lennie and top the leaderboard? Here’s a look at who’s dancing what and how they’ll likely fare during Dancing with the Stars season 11 week 6.
Dancing with the Stars 2010 week 6 couple spoiler: Brandy Norwood and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Tango. Brandy tore it up last week with her I’ll Be There For You Quickstep, but can she do it again with a dramatic, precise Tango this week? Probably. After a so-so start to DWTS season 11, the R&B singer-slash-actress has gotten better and better as the weeks have worn on. The girl can bring it.
Dancing with the Stars 2010 week 6 couple spoiler: Rock Fox and Cheryl Burke, Tango. I know that Carrie Ann Inaba drools over the former Laker star, but I don’t see his appeal on the ballroom floor. He still has an awkward air about his movements, and Cheryl outshines him week after week (after week). I don’t expect a slam dunk.
Dancing with the Stars 2010 week 6 couple spoiler: Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough, Paso Doble. Is the 50-year old actress’ age catching up with her? Jury’s out. Jennifer stumbled a little with her week 5 Quickstep and fell to second place on the leaderboard behind Brandy. However, her Argentine Tango during week 4 was fabulous, so I expect to see her regain the judges’ favor with a passion-infused Paso Doble.
Dancing with the Stars 2010 week 6 couple spoiler: Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer, Tango. I’m of two minds when it comes to the Disney star. On one hand, I love his attitude and his crowd-pleasing, energetic dances. He’s just a fun guy. On the other, his footwork needs big-time improvement if he wants to stay in the competition. So what are his chances of excelling on Monday night? Pretty good, as long as he can make his feet behave.
Dancing with the Stars 2010 week 6 couple spoiler: Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas, Tango. The teen activist and the former DWTS pro champ are hanging on by a thread. Unless Bristol can seriously improve her performance skills, she’s going to be in very big trouble come Tuesday night. She has the technical ability to fly, but her emotionally flat routines keep her on the ground with the judges.
Dancing with the Stars 2010 week 6 couple spoiler: Audrina Patridge and Tony Dovolani, Paso Doble. The reality star has exceeded my expectations week after week, and is a definite contender for the Mirrorball Trophy, if she can inject some feeling and passion into her dances. This could be a make-it or break-it kind of week for Audrina: She’ll either break loose and offer up a no-holds-barred, super sharp Paso, or she’ll fall flat.
Dancing with the Stars 2010 week 6 couple spoiler: Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya, Paso Doble. Mr. Frying Pan Hands could finally find his niche with the aggressive, powerful Paso. On the plus side, it gives him a chance to really use and take advantage of his stature. On the downside, he’s the only male celeb performing a Paso this week, so the only comparisons the judges will be able to make will be to the pros.
But the week 6 excitement won’t end with the individual dances: No, the couples will go head to head in a Rock and Roll dance marathon. The outcome of this puppy is clearly to be determined, but I’ll take a shot at predicting the call-out order, just based on the judges’ opinions of the celebs’ efforts thus far into the season. First to be axed? Bristol Palin, duh. Next up, Kurt Warner and Rick Fox. Kyle Massey will be booted next, followed by Audrina Patridge, leaving faves Brandy Norwood and Jennifer Grey to fight it out for the win. Based purely on momentum, I’ll give Brandy the win, and Jen second place. How close will I be? Find out Monday night on Dancing with the Stars week 6 when the ballroom goes Rock and Roll.
