By all accounts it should be Bristol Palin’s time. As “Dancing With the Stars” judge Len Goodman so eloquently pointed out on Monday night’s show, Palin and her partner Mark Ballas have been in the bottom two six times this season.
But Palin really proved herself this week, tieing front runner Brandy’s score of 27 out of 30 in the first dance.
Of course, all of the couples did well this week, which means that Tuesday night’s results show could make it anyone’s game. Who will go home this week on ‘DWTS”?
Brandy and her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy started the show off with an aggressive, passionate paso doble which they dedicated to anyone who has ever been bullied.
Later Bruno “Mr. Adjectives” Tonioli gushed that Brandy was “lush, languid, voluptuous…”
Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough had a perfect night- literally. The couple scored tripe 10’s in both rounds, for a perfect score of 60.
Bristol Palin’s paso doble warranted a proud mama hug from judge Carrie Ann Inaba, while Len Goodman declared , “Bristol the pistol- all guns blazing!”
And Disney star Kyle Massey was touted as “a bouncy bundle of joy” as he and partner Lacey Schwimmer scored their share of 10’s and the second highest total score of the night.
Of course, all this fun was put on hold for a “What Makes Them Competitive” segment. This included a rundown of the “DWTS” stars hardships, including fatal car accidents that affected both Brandy and Jennifer Grey, Grey’s multitude of health problems, Bristol Palin’s experience with teen pregnancy and Kyle Massey’s journey to L.A. which involved his mom taking $10K out of her 401-K and never looking back.
As for Tuesday night’s “DWTS” Week 9 elimination, the scores play part of the picture, but it’s the viewer votes that really matter this week.

Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough
