Dancing With The Stars celebrated its 200th episode on Monday, November 1 and Bristol Palin danced perhaps her best dance of the season with pro partner Mark Ballas. However, the duo still landed on the bottom of the leader board and scored 57 out of a possible 70 points for their Kelly Osbourne-inspired Viennese Waltz.
Thus we’re at the same juncture as we’ve started from the very onset of the show. Earning the lowest scores coupled with the obvious lack of dancing talent relative to the other competitors of Season 11 DWTS, shouldn’t Bristol and Mark be eliminated tonight? Is that not the obvious conclusion?
No, not necessarily as we’ve seen in the first six weeks results’ shows.
The results of Dancing With The Stars are supposed to be determined by a combination of the judge’s scores and the viewer’s votes. That is what we’re told anyway.
Yet, despite receiving low scores and landing at or near the bottom of the judge’s leader board for consecutive weeks, Bristol Palin has still managed to earn enough votes to stay on the extremely competitive show.
In fact, it felt as if Palin and Ballas practically usurped Audrina Patridge and Tony Dovolani who were shockingly eliminated from Week 6 of DWTS.
Thus their elimination begs the question: Why? Why not Bristol and Mark? Or even Kurt and Anna? Heck, why not even let crowd-pleaser Kyle Massey with partner Lacey Schwimmer go before Audrina and Tony?
Bristol Palin has staying power and the media is left to wonder what contributes to her endurance.
TMZ has put together a clip on their explanation as to why Bristol Palin is still around, even calling this mystery a ‘DWTS Conspiracy’). Click here to watch TMZ clip:
But all joking aside, is it the fact that Bristol is daughter to Sarah Palin that lends to her ability to keep going? Is it even remotely possible that the Mama Cub has some political influence and power that has urged millions of voters to call in and support ‘Alaska’s Favorite Daughter?’
Or, could it be much more sinister than that and the results of Dancing With The Stars are ‘fixed?’ (Gasp!) Is it possible that the powers-that-be of one of America’s most popular shows are in collusive cahoots so as to manipulate those incredible ratings and out-of-this-world viewership?
Assuming that the executives really are basing results on the votes of the fans and viewers, then the only logical conclusion is that Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas have a large enough fan base that’s carried them this far.
However, will that fan base be large enough to get them through another week of competition with the rest of the best in the competition?
We’ll just have to wait until tonight (DWTS airs live at 8 pm ET for two hours), to see if the Bristol DWTS mystery continues or not.
