Dancing with the Stars Season 11 is heating up with tempers flaring and tears rolling. Week eight was Instant Dance week with teams receiving the style of dance earlier in the week and the music given to the teams 20 minutes before their performance. The scores from the instant dance were added to the teams individual scores.
Here is a rundown on how the teams fared on Dancing with the Stars; Instant Dance Week.
Brandy and Maks tied with Jennifer and Derek for first place on the leader board for the third time this season. Team Bran DMC received a score of 29 for their waltz which Judge Carrie Ann Inaba called spellbinding and Judge Len Goodman said was overwhelming.
Tempers flew when it came to the instant dance when Carrie Ann criticized the team for waiting for 8 beats before starting to dance the cha cha. Maks, known as “the bad boy of the ballroom”, took offence and shot back, “Then give us a seven.” Len agreed with Carrie Ann that the ‘Instant Dance” should begin immediately, but in the end Brandy and Maks were awarded a 28 giving them a total of 57 for the night.
Tears were shed by Jennifer Grey as she pushed her body through the rigorous practice sessions for week eight. Grey was shown without make up and in pain preparing for the weeks competition with partner Derek. Make up on and pain forgotten Team Baby Derek performed a quick step that was reminiscent of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rodgers. Their efforts paid off with a score of 27.
Jennifer and Derek received a perfect score for the Rumba. Judge Bruno called the dance breathtaking and Carrie Ann said the team captured the moment. The score of 30 gave team Baby Derek a total of 57 and in a tie for first place.
Kyle and Lacey performed a Viennese Waltz that brought them an impressive score of 27 in their individual dance, but turned around and brought down the house with their Instant Dance. Team Schmurgles’ Rumba to “Good Golly Miss Molly”, had everyone standing at the end with Bruno calling the routine, “wacky, wild and fun”. For their efforts the young dancers received a 29 giving them a total of 56 for the night.
Len complimented Kurt and Anna on their beautiful waltz, telling the team they captured “the whole feeling of the dance”. For their Instant Dance team Kurt Anna danced the cha cha and the Judges were booed by the audience for only awarding the team 24 points.
Combined with the 24 they received for their individual dance Kurt and Anna landed in fourth place on the leader board with a 48.
Coming in last points for the third time in the competition were Bristol and Mark. The judge’s scores don’t seem to matter to the home audience fans that keep voting to keep team Ballin on the show. Bristol and Mark finished with a 24 for their Argentine Tango and a 23 for the Samba for a last place finish of 47.
