There is nothing more fun than seeing past DWTS celebrities come back to the show. We love dancing and we all have our favorite celebrities. Dancing with the Stars brought back two of our favorite celebrities, Kristi Yamaguchi and Apolo Anton Ohno. The two teams for the first dance was Team Kristi and Team Apolo. The celebrities’ scores from the first dance will be added in to their second dance scores. This could give some of the celebrities a clear advantage, depending how well they do on their Team Kristi or Team Apolo dance.
Team Kristi (Score: 24) was Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas, Rick Fox and Cheryl Burke, and Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer. Rick Fox brought out his groove on the dance floor. Bristol was shaking her hips and dancing with a smile on her face. Loved her dancing! Kyle showed us again that he doesn’t want to go home yet. Team Kristi was amazing!
Team Apolo (Score: 27) was Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough, Brandy and Maks Chmerkovskiy, and Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya. Jennifer and Brandy are the girls to beat. They upped their game and danced like pros. Kurt Warner wasn’t to be left behind with his snazzy dancing. Team Apolo’s members declared war with their dancing, charisma, and entertainment. They are the ones to beat on DWTS.
Let’s get straight to the DWTS dancing.
Last night, DWTS changed up the entire episode since it was the Dancing with the Stars‘ 200th episode. Each celebrity got a dance that was previously danced by the DWTS best of the best. We saw clips from the previous dancers and then watched this season’s celebrities try to match their techniques. Let’s see how they did.
Let me just say before we begin that it really got to me that past celebrities didn’t give every DWTS celebrity a 10 score. Like they’re now pros, just because they’ve danced the dance and got fabulous scores! Urg… show some love to the DWTS celebrities! Every celebrity should have gotten a 10 score from the past celebrities.
See who got a 10 score and who didn’t!
Kyle Massey and Lacy Schwimmer (Score: 35, totaling 59) danced Mel B and Maks Paso Doble from Season 5. Did they dance as well as Mel B? I say no. Don’t get me wrong. Every week, Kyle keeps coming out and giving his all in the dances. But was it up to Mel B’s performance? I did not think so. Mel B loved it and didn’t mind saying that she was blown away (She gave him a 10). Of course, I bet she was thinking what I was… just not as good.
Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya (Score 34: totaling 61) danced Emmitt Smith’s tango from Season 3. If anything, Warner danced it better than Emmitt Smith. Emmitt was showing the love when he also gave Kurt a 10. To me, that is what the past celebrities should do: Show some love!
Bristol Plain and Mark Ballas (Score: 33: totaling 57) danced to Kelly Osbourne’s Viennese Waltz. She was enchanting as she danced across the floor in a pink gown. She had the technique and was beautiful. Unfortunately, the judges thought there was a lack of chemistry. Kelly wasn’t feeling the love and gave her a 9. Come on, Kelly, show some love!
Rick Fox and Cheryl Burke (Score: 37: totaling 61) danced Helio Castroneves’ quickstep. Rick Fox got rave reviews. I, on the other hand, thought it was stiff. Maybe since I’m no pro, I don’t know what I’m talking about, but I’m still a DWTS fan, so I have to say it wasn’t my favorite. Love his smile, love his charisma, and hope he stays another week. Helio gave Rick Fox a 9. Come on Helio, show some love!
Brandy and Maks Chmerkovskiy (Score 37: totaling 64) danced Gilles Marini’s foxtrot. Although I thought she danced great, only Goodman gave her a 10. Was it 10-worthy? Not sure after seeing Jennifer Grey’s, which was completely worth a 10. Back to Brandy: Come on Gilles, show some love!
Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough (Score 37: totaling 64) danced Drew Lachey’s tango. Jennifer Grey is HOT! She might be 50, but she dances like she’s in her 20s. Not only that, but she deserved 10s across the board, instead of just one 10 Score from Drew Lachey. Thanks, Drew, for showing some love!!
All in all, one of the best DWTS shows I’ve seen yet. If you haven’t seen it, check out some of the recaps!
