Jennifer and Derek earned the perfect score of 60 on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Monday night, getting all 10s from Judges Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli. First they danced the Cha Cha Cha with “flawless execution,” said Bruno. But the couple really outdid themselves with their second performance, an elegant and mesmerizing Waltz.
“Sometimes a whisper can speak louder than a shout,” said Len. “If I’m dreaming don’t wake me up because that was fabulous.” Carrie Ann called it beautiful and Bruno said it was stunning.
All of the dancers were exceptionally good during this episode of DWTS, even Bristol and Mark who received 53, the lowest score of the night. Their first dance was the Paso Doble, with Bristol dressed in a long flowing skirt and boots.
Carrie Ann gave Bristol a hug and said she’d “nailed it,” which she’d been waiting for Bristol to do all season. Len said she’d come out with “all guns blazing” and deemed it her best dance. He was no less impressed by her second dance, a Waltz, which he described as haunting.
Brandy danced in pants during her first routine, the Paso Doble, with partner Maks. Bruno called the performance strong, while Carrie said she’d never seen Brandy more connected with her character. That danced earned the couple 27 points.
Brandy was just warming up for her second dance, though. She and Maks burned up the dance floor with a hot Argentine Tango, snagging a 10 from each judge. Len praised Brandy for creating an atmosphere with her seemingly effortless performance, while Bruno deemed it “voluptuous” and “full of flavor.” Carrie Ann was impressed, calling the routine dynamic, powerful and amazing. Total score for Brandy was 57, putting her in third place behind Jennifer and Kyle.
In case anyone was wondering, Kyle has more “bounce for the ounce” than any other dancer. So says Len, who complimented Kyle for his Argentine Tango. “You come out and you just get on with it,” he said. “You have more bounce to the ounce than anyone. Great entertainment.”
Carrie Ann and Bruno echoed the fact that Kyle has bounce. After his second dance, Bruno dubbed him Mr. Charisma, and probably not a soul watching would disagree Len said Kyle had performed with more enthusiasm than any other dancer he’s seen in 11 seasons of ‘Dancing With the Stars.’ Kyle and Lacey scored a not too shabby 58 points, with four of those scores being 10s.
The Monday night episode of ‘Dancing With the Stars’ was definitely a feel-good show, perhaps because the end of the season is drawing nigh and no one wants to ruffle any feathers. Carrie Ann did get booed for saying Bristol still seemed a bit detached, but all in all, things were smooth. The dancers all performed well and looked good, but there can be only one winner. Stay tuned.
