Margaret Cho was eliminated from the cast of ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Tuesday night, making her the third contestant to say goodbye this season. David Hasselhoff and Michael Bolton were first and second, respectively, to lose their spots in the lineup.
“I thought I was going to be putting on pretty dresses and doing little dances,” the comedienne said, after learning she and partner Louis Van Amstel wouldn’t be returning. “I didn’t know I was going into therapy.” She and Louis performed a last dance, to the tune of “You Can’t Always Get You Want.”
Fitting song, to say the least. Michael Bolton may have gotten what he wanted–a little revenge. He returned to the show to sing “Hallelujah,” surrounded by singing children dressed in white. Michael replaced Susan Boyle who was originally scheduled to perform on DWTS, but canceled on the recommendation of her doctor.
Michael, in his element, was well-received by the audience and the judges who stood and clapped after the performance. The camera zoned in on Bruno Tonioli as he smiled and applauded; Bruno had taken some flak for calling Michael one of the worst dancers in eleven seasons of ‘Dancing With the Stars.’
Margaret had improved dramatically from her first dance of the season, when she put her own spin on the Viennese Waltz, prompting Bruno to exclaim “What the hell was that? I thought you were going to eat somebody!”
Bristol Palin had to wait until the last minute Tuesday night to learn whether she was safe for another week; all other contestants already knew they were. Bristol’s Monday night performance wasn’t as good as her first two, but she still has time to be “Bristol the Pistol,” a nickname given to her by Mom Sarah Palin.
My prediction? I’d say Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino needs to practice, practice, practice or he’s next. And everyone, including Jennifer Grey, needs to watch out for Audrina Patridge.
