On Dancing With The Stars last night it was Jennifer Grey and partner Derek Hough who came out on top of the leader board with a score of 24/30 (which they earned during week one’s performance). Audrina Patridge and Tony Dovolani had a big improvement from week one earning 23/30 and the audience’s cheers and approval.
Bristol Palin seemed to be more confident and she and Mark Ballas’ score of 22/30 reflected that new attitude. Like Patridge, Bristol went up by four points in week two and seem to thoroughly enjoy herself.
Unfortunately, Mike The Situation still has a situation on his hands in that he’s in the bottom three again this week despite a three point improvement from week one (he and partner Karina Smirnoff earned 18/30). Will his charisma and true blue efforts pull him through however?
Margaret Cho ditched the comedy and during rehearsals cried as she realized she really could dance. Alas, she and partner Louis van Amstel only made it to 18/30, but that’s still a 3 point improvement from last week.
Kyle Massey is extremely charismatic (especially when he talks about dieting!) and although he lost one point from last week’s performance, he and Lacey Schwimmer definitely are contenders in this contest. Massey simply has the “it” factor and his enthusiasm can’t be dampened.
It was Michael Bolton and Chelsie Hightower who may be waking up today wondering what went wrong. The duo earned a mere 12/30 for their jive compared to their 16/30 week one score. Tom Bergenon joked that he didn’t realize there was a “3” paddle card which was awarded by Bruno. Carrie gave Bolton and Hightower a 4 and Len was generous with 5 points.
During the rehearsal clips before their dance, Brandy revealed a side of her that is well, kind of whiney. She and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy show absolutely no chemistry and not even a complaisant attitude between them.
In fact, Brandy and Maks are great at pointing fingers of blame at one another. While we knew this about Maks, it’s kind of surprising how defensive Brandy is. After performing their jive and having Brandy’s solo stint ‘dissed, Brandy pointed at Maks and said it was his idea. Hmmm…..despite their great talent, will they make it through with attitudes like that?
Brandy and Maks ended up with 21/30 dropping from a 23/30 from week one.
