Dancing with the Stars Week Five; TV Theme Week had the dancers moving to the music from iconic television shows. Bristol Palin is under a lot of pressure as critics are all over the web predicting her elimination. Jennifer Grey is the odds on favorite to win season 11 but is receiving stiff competition from both Audrina Partridge and Brandy.
Brandy and Maks were the first to perform dancing a quick step to the theme from ‘Friends’. Judge Len Goodman said this was their best dance so far.
Their performance landed team Bran DMC in first place for the night with a score of 27.
Jennifer and Derek finished in second place with a score of 25. Team Baby Derek danced the foxtrot to the theme from ‘Married with Children’. Judge Bruno Tonioli said he was “transported back in time”. Len felt it was a little too theatrical.
There was a tie for third place on Dancing with the Stars; TV Theme Week with the pro sports players, Kurt Warner and Rick Fox finishing with a score of 24. Warner and partner Anna did a quick step to the theme from ‘Bewitched’. This gave team Kurt Anna their highest score to date.
Team Fox-C danced the rumba to the theme from ‘Hill Street Blues’. Bruno said that Rick was “mega smooth”. Len said the dance was more like,” a couple trying to stay together for the children’. The judges each gave the team 8 points each for a total score of 24.
Audrina and Tony came in fourth place doing the rumba to the theme from Audrinas’ reality show ‘The Hills’. All three judges agreed Audrina had improved technically. Bruno asked fro more passion. Team Torina finished with a score of 23.
Florence Henderson best known for her role on ‘The Brady Bunch’ danced the tango to the theme from her old TV show. Len thought it was her best dance so far. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba said “some of the moves threw off your timing”, to which Henderson shot back, “You try dancing the tango to the theme song from ‘The Brady Bunch’. Team Florky ended up with a score of 21.
On the bottom again were Kyle Massey and Bristol Palin. Massey and partner Lacey chose the theme from ‘Charlie’s Angels.’ Massey complete with an afro and mustache danced the foxtrot and for the fourth week in a row had his technique criticized by the judges. Team Ballin’ who received the lowest score of the night. Bristol and Mark performed a jive to the theme from the ‘Monkey’s. Even the addition of their monkey costumes worn in the opening couldn’t help cover the mistakes and forgotten steps. Mom Palin was absent from the audience and could be found in Nevada for the launch of the Tea Party Express. Bristol’s critics might be right; she might not make it to week six after receiving a score of 18 for the night.
