Dancing with the Stars saw David Hasselhoff eliminated in week one and Michael Bolton voted off in week two. Week three of season 11 was Story Night and the dancers had to tell a story with their dance.
Both Margaret Cho and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino have showed up on the bottom rung of the judges’ scores for three weeks in a row. Cho received the lowest score of the night for week three receiving 18 points with Palin just one point ahead at 19. Henderson and Sorrentino each received a 20 from the judges.
When the viewers votes were tallied for week three Dancing with the Stars, Cho, Palin, Fox and Massey were on the chopping block.
The previous night Judge Len told Massey “Your footwork is atrocious”. Bruno told Massey, “you have the likeability factor on your side”, and Carrie Ann told him, “You bring fun to the dance floor”. Massey proved that a great big smile and personality will take one a long way, as he and partner Lacey moved on to week four.
The judges awarded Rick Fox and Cheryl Burke a score of 24 with solid 8’s across the board landing the team in second place for the night. Somehow the viewing audience didn’t agree and Rick ended up coming close to being eliminated. The close call showed that the DWTS Judges and the home audience don’t always see eye to eye.
Bristol Palin and partner Mark Ballas showed improvement during week two but took a back slide in week three. The team had been told by Judge Len to “take a chance”, which they did only to hear Len say,” You took a chance and I didn’t like it”.
The last few minutes of Dancing with the Stars saw Palin safe from elimination.
Margaret Cho became the third person voted off season 11’s Dancing with the Stars. Cho a comedian, actress, author and fashion designer struggled from week one when she turned the waltz into a comedy skit. The DWTS Judges weren’t amused. Week two saw Margaret and Louie jump back into the running with Carrie Ann telling Cho, “You can dance”.
Week three of the competition proved to be too much for Cho, who was on tour in Canada during the week, cutting into her practice time. As host Tom Bergeron announced that Cho would be leaving the show, tears started falling down her face. Cho thanked everyone involved with the show and said she gave it all she had.
Next week will be a new ballroom set and acoustical music and someone will go home. Watch Dancing with the Stars, Monday Night @8:00 on ABC
