A date has been announced for Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding. Katie Nicholl, who wrote the book, William and Harry, Behind the Palace Walls, told Entertainment Tonight that Prince William and Kate Middleton have set their wedding date for April 29, 2011 at Westminster Abbey in London.
Wedding Date Set for Prince William and Kate Middleton – Official Announcement on Tuesday
Prince William and Kate Middleton’s official engagement was announced last Wednesday in London, but no wedding date was announced at that time. Another speculation the public was anxious to learn was where William and Kate would wed. A venue needed to be large enough to accommodate heads of state, as protocol dictates in royal marriages.
Westminster Abbey was the venue for Princess Diana’s funeral in 1997 and also where Prince Andrew married Sarah Ferguson. Prince William and Kate Middleton will bring a much-needed sense of happiness to renew the U.K.’s morale throughout the recessive economy that has been felt on a global scale.
An estimated 3 billion people are expected to watch the royal wedding, far exceeding the 750 million that watched the marriage of Prince Charles and Lady Diana take place nearly 30 years ago.
An official announcement of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding date will be Tuesday.
