Decepticons are best known from their appearance in the Transformers movies and comics as the nemesis to Autobots. Ladies, I’m here to tell you that the Decepticons have assimilated some of our men. They are now beyond human control. They’re running around lying, cheating and leaving those they’ve ruined distraught in their trail. Just like the Decepticons in the the movies, these men are on a quest to take over and destroy. They come in many forms and usually arm themselves with deluded stories of grandeur.
The most dangerous decepticon of all time is Mr. Right. This is the guy you meet that you’ve dreamt of your whole life. He’s successful, smart, attentive, sensitive, and his weapon of choice is an abundance of charm. He wants you love him, he wants you to think that he’s the most wonderful man on the planet, he wants you to believe that you have met “the one”. This is the Megatron of the dating scene. Whenever you need him, he transforms into a tank and rolls over anything that dares to create an obstacle in your path. He makes you feel protected and safe. Until one day when he takes on his true form morphing into a fighter jet and takes off leaving you devastated wondering what happened. What happened is very simple. The man you met is just another transformation. His true self is that dog of a man that you want nothing to do with. Everything about this Mr. Right is purely an illusion. This is the man that will send you to that place of teary days and sleepless nights. After he’s gone, the hurt and pain will remain and rob you of at least 10 pounds so that not only has he destroyed what is invisible, but even in his absence he leaves you looking as sick as you feel on the inside.
The Great Pretender is another decepticon we must watch out for. He doesn’t really have the ability to cause mental damage because by the time you realize who he really is, which is a user and abuser, you feel so stupid for getting caught in his trap that you just want to cut your losses and get rid of him. This would be the Soundwave of dating. He gets in by gathering a lot of information about you and rather quickly upon meeting. He then uses that information to prey upon your weaknesses thus distracting you from his obvious flaws which you will clearly see by the end. He initially appears to be a stable professional but later it will turn out that he’s career-seeking, ambiton lacking, or just plain comfortable with under achieving. Pretty much meaning he’s unemployed or under employed which is fine-ish except for the fact that his only purpose was to use you for your possessions and or cash. You end up supporting him while getting nothing in return and eventually his act fades because truth is, he’s not smart enough to pretend to be an extraordinary gentleman for long periods of time.
Another one I can’t forget is Confuse Us. This guy has the ability to be a great partner but however he has the tendency to switch to the other team and be a jerk. He sometimes loves to be in a relationship but other times he just wants to play the field. He is the Sideways in your dating life. The man you meet is the real him, but you just never know if he’s going to turn the tables. This one may leave you a little scarred but mostly all he does is “confuse us”.
There are many types of decepticons out there. Some are even a cross-breed and can be a little bit of 2 or more types. No matter which one you meet, they all have one common goal. To take what belongs to you. They want you for sex, they want you because to them you’re no more than a conquest, an item to check off on their bucket list. They want you because they enjoy psychotic activities like making one love them and then fleeing as if they were on fire and running towards the nearest body of water. The reason for such behavior doesn’t matter. All that matters is that somewhere in the life of these men, an emotional disconnect was created to cause them to recklessly harm without regard and us as women are the ones that usually end up paying the price.
