They take off in his ship with Chewbacca amongst his crew, and go to Alderaan after discovering Ogana Major has been destroyed. Han and Luke discover Deak is now dying as a result of an earlier Jedi duel with Darth Vader. Yet discovers his father, Kane Starkiller is indeed alive. The final battle ensues on The Death Star with The Kaiburr Crystal restoring The Jedi Order.
It is said the third draft is around the time George Lucas started using Joseph Campbell’s The Hero’s Journey as a story template. More or less, it can be gathered this is where C3PO and R2D2 became heralds calling Luke to adventure and save Princess Leia. Despite initially refusing, he receives supernatural aid from the old General, now a Jedi Master named Obi-Wan Kenobi.
They of course discover Han and Chewbacca at Mos Eisley, before setting off in The Millennuim Falcon, being chased by storm troopers and end up in The Death Star. Of course, they rescue Princess Leia, a mother goddess and temptress. Luke then bears an atonement with the father figure when Obi-Wan sacrifices himself.
He reaches an apotheosis and sees the ultimate boon after escaping The Death and having to face his new life without Obi-Wan. Han and Leia have to force him to coming along in the magic flight when he refuses and shoots at storm troopers out of anger.
