DiGiorno’s Ultimate Pepperoni Pizza seemed just the thing for my two teenage sons, who are ultimate pizza lovers. Could it pass their test? This pizza has two layers of “specialty cheeses” and 50 percent more pepperoni than the Digiorno’s rising crust pizza, another one of the best frozen pizza options out there.
For my review of DiGiorno Ultimate Topping Pepperoni, I had my sons rank the pizza in terms of topping taste, cheese taste, sauce taste and crust. Is it the best frozen pizza?
But first, here are a few things I learned about DiGiorno Ultimate Toppings Pepperoni Pizza from my review:
No. 1: DiGiorno Ultimate Toppings Pepperoni Pizza calories: One slice or 1/5 of the pizza has 370 calories.
No. 2: DiGiorno Ultimate Toppings Pepperoni Pizza nutritional facts: One slice has 19 grams of fat, 1080 mg sodium, 2 grams of fiber, 17 grams of protein and 5 grams of sugar.
No. 3: DiGiorno Ultimate Toppings Pepperoni Pizza ingredients: The ingredients include wheat flour, water, pepperoni, salt, spices, flavoring, part skim mozzarella cheese, whole milk mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, smoke flavoring, yeast, corn meal, baking soda, garlic, white corn meal, vegetable oil, extra virgin olive oil and other ingredients.
No. 4: DiGiorno Ultimate Toppings Pepperoni Pizza baking instructions: Preheat oven to 400. Bake for 17 to 19 minutes.
No. 5: DiGiorno Ultimate Toppings Pepperoni Pizza ultimate toppings comes in several different flavors including Ultimate 4 Meat, Ultimate Supreme and Ultimate Cheese. Many people think DiGiorno does make the best frozen pizza.
I taste tested the pizza with my two sons and then combined our scores and found the average. We ranked the toppings, sauce, crust and cheese 1 to 5 with one as poor and 5 as excellent.
For topping taste, the average score was 4.7
For sauce taste, the average score was 4.5
For crust, the average score was 4.6
For cheese, the average score was 4.8.
We ultimately (pun intended) gave the Ultimate Toppings with extra pepperoni a thumbs up. The crust is fluffy inside but still crispy on the bottom and edges. It’s not too thin of a crust. The cheese tastes rich and flavorful. We love sauce and would have preferred more but it was not too sweet and seemed a little chunky to me which was fine.
For picky eaters, the DiGiorno pepperoni pizza is a great choice. And for the less picky, you can always add your own assortment of chopped mushrooms, peppers, onions and broccoli to the one side.
As far as being the best frozen pizza, the DiGiorno certainly can compete with Pizza Hut or Little Caesar’s when you don’t want to order out.
