Kirsten Gillibrand is New York’s U.S. Senator who was appointed by Governor David Paterson to fill in for Hillary Clinton after Clinton left her position to become Barack Obama’s Secretary of State. On November 2, 2010, New York voters will have the chance to decide whether Gillibrand should keep her job for the remainder of Hillary’s original term or if she should be replaced by someone else. Former Congressman Joe DioGuardi is running against her well funded and media favored campaign for that position.
Until just recently, the mainstream media had all but ignored the fact that Gillibrand had people campaigning against her and had predicted a cakewalk for her to keep her job. However, while the media wasn’t looking, Joe DioGuardi’s campaign started picking up steam and he is now very close to catching up to Gillibrand’s lead in the polls and may even surpass her.
Despite Gillibrand and the media’s best efforts to bury unflattering truths about her past people are learning not only about how she worked to help big tobacco lie to the country about the addictive nature of cigarettes, but also that she played a role in orchestrating the mortgage meltdown which badly damaged our economy when she worked for HUD with Andrew Cuomo. Even with her family’s powerful political connections, these kinds of things have a way of getting out and voters are not amused.
Before being appointed Senator, Kirsten Gillibrand was a Congresswoman, a so called “Blue Dog” democrat who supposedly leaned conservative on many issues. Since becoming Senator, Gillibrand has become a serial flip flopper who has taken a hard left turn to fall in lockstep with Chuck Schumer behind Barack Obama’s destructive big spending agenda for America, regardless of how badly it will hurt New Yorkers. Senator Gillibrand’s inconsistency proves that she is loyal to only one thing: her political well being.
Joe DioGuardi is a CPA with a proven record of fiscal responsibility. Joe DioGuardi warned people about the consequences of irresponsible government spending for years before it was fashionable to do so. He also consistently stands up for what he believes is right regardless of the political climate, as demonstrated by his decades long commitment to pro-life values.
On November 2, 2010, voters will have the chance replace self-absorbed and opportunistic Kirsten Gillibrand with a consistent and principled voice of reason by electing Joe DioGuardi to represent New York in the United States Senate.
